MUSIC: Thirsty Thursday? How about Thursday Thief night? Caravan of Thieves brings its eclectic mix of foot-stomping, street-bred folk rock back to Lovin’ Cup (in Park Point), ready to steal your hearts and souls (musically, at least). Local group The Pickpockets opens up this chaotic night of musical mayhem. Show starts at 8 p.m., tickets will run you $10. Check lovincup.com for the details.

MUSIC: Making songs fun, enjoyable, and catchy, all while weaving in a lyrical narrative, can be hard. But for New Jersey’s The Front Bottoms, it comes as naturally as the group’s blend of acoustic rock-pop stylings. Lyrically, it puts forth real life, relatable stories, and while the sound and presentation at times scream simple, there’s an undeniable nature for the songs to take you with them, just asking you to sing along. The group will return to Rochester tonight at the Bug Jar (219 Monroe Ave.) for an 8 p.m. show, tickets $10-$12. For more info: bugjar.com.

MUSIC: Or, maybe you want to start off your weekend with some jazz and fine dining. Stop on down to Bistro 135 (135 W. Commercial St., East Rochester) for the John Palocy Trio (formerly the Jazz Dawgs) at 6 p.m. for some free music, food, and good times. Just don’t forget you have to pay for the food. Bistro135.net.
