Summer may be winding down, but there’s still a little time left for one last hurrah (and some deep fried doughnuts). The New York State Fair kicks off today at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, bringing a wide range of music and other activities along with it.
Highlights on the Grandstand this year include country star Keith Urban, who will be playing Friday August 24 at 7:30 p.m., with tickets costing $45-$65. The three stage Uproar Festival, including Shinedown, Godsmack, and Staind, will rock the house on Saturday, August 25 at 2 p.m., tickets running $35-$55. Comedian and Blue Collar Comedy Tour veteran Larry the Cable Guy will be ‘getting-r-done’ on Sunday, August 26 at 7:30 p.m., tickets going for $25-$45.
The Chevy Court Stage is bringing a wide mix of contemporary and classic acts, all for free, including Neon Trees (Thursday, August 23, 8 p.m.), Matt Nathanson, (Friday, August 24, 8 p.m.), Victoria Justice of iCarly fame (Wednesday, August 29, 8 p.m.), Mike Posner (Thursday, August 30, 2 p.m.), and the devil banishing country fiddler Charlie Daniels (Monday, September 3, 8 p.m.). Food Network star Guy Fieri will also be appearing on the Chevy Court Stage on Wednesday, August 29, at 2 p.m.
The Fair is also including two additional stages of free music this year, with a rotation of various other regional and national touring artists. For more information on the fair, as well as the complete music line up, check out nysfair.org.
